Foreign Minister Wang Yi said the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence have become basic norms governing international relations and fundamental principles of international law.
Speaking at a news conference on Thursday in Beijing, Wang said the five principles, though born in Asia, have transcended differences in social systems and ideology and are contributing the wisdom of the East in handling state-to-state relations.
China and its neighboring countries will always be there for each other, Wang said.
China stands ready to work with its neighbors to carry forward the five principles toward building a community with a shared future for Asia and for mankind.
This will contribute to world peace and provide impetus for global growth he said.
